WARRANTY

Jose Marques guitars are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for my life as an active luthier. Damage due to reasonable wear and tear, abuse, neglect, extremes of temperature or humidity, or natural disaster are not covered.

Periodic maintenance is the responsibility of the owner and is a condition of warranty. Repairs or alterations not performed by Jose Marques Guitars risk cancellation of this warranty. However, it is sometimes the case that shipping a guitar back, over distance, or across international borders is not always practical. I might be able to recommend a luthier in your area who can competently do certain repairs, if such an individual is available. If an instrument is shipped back to me for repair, the shipping costs are the responsibility of the owner.

RETURNS

My stock instruments (purchased from the "AVAILABLE" page), may be returned if found unsuitable, after a trial period of 5 days. The full purchase price will be refunded upon safe return of the guitar. If not in original condition, the cost of restoration will be deducted. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the client.

Certain custom made instruments can be returned if proven to be unsuitable to the owner for the purchase price, minus the  deposit. The same 5 day trial period applies to custom guitars as to my stock guitars. Some custom made guitars are returnable, others are not. This is going to depend on the degree to which I feel as though it can be re-sold within a reasonable amount of time. For example, a custom made guitar with a 54mm wide nut is not something that I can easily re-sell, as very few players would be interested in a nut width this wide or a guitar with dots in several frets such 3,5,7,8,12 etc because the client see this guitars as student, even if they are not, what makes the re-sale difficult.

If after being returned, the guitar is not in original condition, the cost of restoration will be deducted.

For unusual, custom made guitars, not build to standard specifications, I will reimburse the funds immediately upon re-sale of the instrument.
